Verschil Vista En Xp
Hello, I'm having some trouble moving programs from Visual Studio 2008 (post release) on XP to VS2008 on Vista. I created a windows mobile application originally on VS2005 (XP machine). Recently, we upgraded to VS2008. App seems to have converted well. I just got a Vista machine. I installed VS2008 along with mobile development needs such as mobile 5.0 sdk.
Differences between XP/2003 and Vista. Windows Vista Networking I was able to simply install the XP.
Went to open the solution and got the message, 'XML document must have a top level element'. Symantec Ghost Explorer 11 Download Acdsee For Pentax 5.1 on this page. here. Same thing happened with the project file. I created a sample program which had the same issue. I was able to overcome the problem by starting a new mobile project on the new machine and importing all of the objects. However, the program that I would like to transfer to is a much larger production application and I'm dubious about re-creating it, even by importing all the elements. The main problem appears to be XP vs Vista.
Secondary is how such error messages are generated. There is no indication of which xml file is being read when the error is raised, and there are lots of xml files to sift through. Where do I post this? Second post on this thread - I did some more analysis - I created a windows forms project in VS2008 on the old XP machine. Added nothing to the project; no code, no references, no nothing (OK, bad English, but you get it.). I copied the code (entire folder) over to the Vista machine. I opened it in VS2008 - no problem.
I then created a smart device app in VS2008 on the XP machine. Did nothing else, just as above. Saved and closed it right away. Copied code (entire folder) to Vista machine and attempted to open it in VS2008. Got the error. Thank you to anyone who can help.
Forth Post, Haven't had any suggestions from anyone yet. Continued analysis: Created a Windows Mobile 2003 application with VS 2008 on the XP Machine. Weeds Season 5 Torrent Iso more. Did nothing more. Again, no new code, controls or anything else.
Save code and copied entire file to Vista machine. Opened in VS2008 with no issues. -This would seem to isolate the Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK as the issue. To further isolate the issue, I created an application on the XP machine with VS2005 and windows mobile 5. Saved project and copied entire folder to new Vista machine. When I opened the app in VS2008, it wanted to convert, so I replied with 'yes' to all prompts. The conversion failed in a number of areas.
Interesting though, the solution file converted with no issue. The suo file failed. The project file (csproj) converted successfully, but listed the 'XML document must have a top level element' error in its comments. All other objects failed to convert.
Summary so far - Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK interfaces badly with project files when transferring applications created on XP machines to Vista. Other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
